Community led philosophy
Wellbeing specialists
Over the last 15 years, I have worked in education and within the community. I have seen, first-hand, the effects of poor wellbeing and the impact it has on both individuals and those supporting them. But I also know the power of good wellbeing—how it can transform lives, including my own.
I have seen how student wellbeing is affected by the pressures of school life. From the transition into Year 7 to making crucial decisions about their next steps, anxiety is a constant challenge. At the same time, staff supporting these students are managing their own wellbeing, often struggling under the increasing demands of their roles.
Whilst working in the community as a Social Prescriber for GP practices, I saw how loneliness and isolation created barriers that made it difficult for people to access the help they needed. Overcoming these challenges alone is never easy, and I recognised the need for tailored support that meets people where they are.
Wellbeing isn’t just something I advocate for—it’s something I have relied on myself. My own journey, including facing lung cancer, has shown me how vital it is to have the right tools, support, and mindset. Learning how to manage stress, build resilience, and prioritise wellbeing helped me navigate one of the toughest times of my life. That’s why I’m passionate about equipping others with the same skills—because I know, first-hand, how much they matter.
My passion for improving wellbeing led me to complete a Master’s in Education, focusing on the wellbeing of secondary school students. I was awarded a Distinction and received the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence, reflecting my commitment to understanding and addressing the challenges young people face. I also hold a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Management, further equipping me with the skills to create meaningful interventions.
Through my experience in education, social prescribing, and research, I have developed a deep understanding of how to support individuals in building resilience, reducing anxiety, and improving overall wellbeing. Because when we invest in wellbeing, we don’t just survive—we thrive.
